Elective Block Offerings- Make Your Choices

Here is a link to the elective block class offering for the next quarter.  I will also have some paper copies of the catalog in my classroom to look at.  Please fill out and return the worksheet that I am sending home, with your child's choices for the elective block.   I need these by Wednesday, January 27 so that we have time to create the new groupings to begin the classes on February 3.  The following is a link to the catalogs for all grade levels.  Please look at the catalog for grades 1,2.

The following link will direct you to the latest course catalogs and schedule worksheets for all grades.

All School Project Fair , Thursday, January 28

The All-School Project Fair will be next Thursday evening, January 28 from 6:30 - 8:00pm.  Your whole family is invited to attend.  There will be some group performances and presentations in the multipurpose room during the evening.  I will post the schedule for you when it is finalized.  There are several students performing from our class.  It is an opportunity to see and experience some of the things happening at all levels of our school not just the first and second grades.  Our classroom will be showing our projects related to our study of the Amazon rainforest in particular.  I hope that you can all make it.  If you have questions please let me know.

Terrarium Project Beginning: Help Needed

First, I want to say thanks to everyone for the amount of bottles that were brought in over the last week. We now have enough for all classes to build terrariums. Awesome! We are planning to start our growing process Tuesday afternoon. To be prepared, we do need to do some prep work in advance. We need to cut each bottle (something probably not suitable for our students to do) and also copy growing journals for each student. We will be doing this prep work after school on Monday. Any help from families would be really great. If it works within your schedule, there will be play activities for all ages while we get to work. I can't imagine it will take too long. No need to confirm, but if you have an extra half an hour, it would really be appreciated.
