Auction project = Music-themed basket

A music-themed "basket" will be our class contribution to the Trillium in Bloom auction. (There might be another contribution as well, but we are "Go" for launch on the music basket.)

Here are some ideas for donations:
  • Concert tickets
  • Music player
  • Gift certificate to local music stores
  • Gift certificate for online music stores
  • CDs from local bands or choruses
  • CDs from other bands -- out-of-town friends, perhaps?
  • Coupon for DJ services
  • Coupon for time in a professional studio
  • Offer of a band performance
  • Tickets to a musical (could be for kids, or not)
  • Music lessons
  • Music-themed art
  • Concert posters
We're also looking for someone who can organize this basket, or share the responsibility with another. Contact me as soon as possible, if you can take this on.

Go forth and be musical!

P.S. Please post other ideas in the comments below.

Class contribution to the Trillium in Bloom auction

Trillium's major fundraiser this year will be an auction, held on Saturday, May 7. Each class is asked to contribute a "project" -- an item, a group of items, experience, or combination thereof -- for the fundraiser. Since our project needs to be completed by April 20, and Spring Break is coming up soon, we need to come to a consensus about what we want our project to be.

Ideas for class projects are endless, but here are a few thoughts to get your creative juices flowing.
. Painting party
. Yard clean-up work party
. Gardening work
· Painted furniture
· Quilts
· Glass work
· Framed art from our students
. Planter boxes built by the class, and filled with flowers or veggies
. Group paintings
. Mosaics
. Decorated flower pots
. Biking basket
. Cooking/kitchen basket
. Dessert of the month
. Music basket
. Overnight stay at a beach or hotel

Other ideas include experiences for which multiple people can sign up, with each paying a fee to participate.
. Classes on various subjects
. Dinner party
. Musical concert
. Pajama pancake party for kids

And finally, here's a link to Emerson's auction last year, for yet more ideas! http://emersonschool.schoolauction.net/2010/homepages/show

So, what do we want our contribution to be? What talents and areas of expertise do we have in our group, that we can draw upon? What inspires our passion? Email me with your ideas.
